AC Milan confirmed today that midfielder Bennacer underwent surgery on his right leg in Finland this morning. The recovery period is expected to be four months.

On September 8th, the Algerian national team officially announced that Bennacer was injured during training and would withdraw from the current national team camp.

The 26-year-old Bennacer has been playing for Milan for over 5 years. He has played in 171 matches, scoring 8 goals and providing 11 assists. Last season, Bennacer was also absent for a long period due to injury. He played 25 matches throughout the season, with a total playing time of 1335 minutes, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists. Currently, his contract with Milan is set to expire in 2027.
